All county purchasing is centralized in the Purchasing Department.
The Purchasing Director acts as the shopper for the county researching vendors,
finding the most efficient products, placing orders and making all purchases
that are paid for with county funds. The department strives to ensure that all
purchases made by the county are the best buy for the taxpayers’ dollar.
A well-organized purchasing system ensures that good business practices are
followed when goods and services are purchased, leased or lease/purchased,
or obtained by any other method that is in the best interest of the county.
County purchasing practices are regulated by the County Purchasing Act as
defined in the Oklahoma Statutes, Title 19, Chapter 33, “County Purchasing Procedures.”
The legislature has revised these statutes each year since the original laws were written
to keep them current and beneficial.
Our mission is to enhance public procurement, promote fair and open competition and
maintain the trust of the public by providing quality service, expertise, direction
and leadership for both our internal and external customers.
Vendors register on our website and receive email notification of bidding opportunities.
