These are the recommended guidelines for the processing of a passport at the Houston
Passport Agency.
Five (5) business days or less:
Customer must pay the expedite fee of $60.00
Must show proof of departure, and either
appear in person at the Houston Passport
Agency or have their application hand carried by a
third party.
Six (6) to fifteen (15) business days:
Customer must pay the expedite fee of $35.00
Must show proof of departure, and either
appear in person at the Houston Passport
Agency or have their application sent by overnight
delivery service to and from this agency.
Sixteen (16) to twenty-five (25) business days:
The application must be mailed to the Mellon Bank
(lockbox) address. The customer should use an
overnight delivery service for the return of their
passport.
Twenty-six (26) business days or more:
The application must be mailed to the Mellon Bank
(lockbox) address and the passport will be returned
by first class mail.
