Oklahoma County Debris Retrieval Guidelines

Oklahoma County (December 17th, 2007) – Oklahoma City – Oklahoma County Commissioner and Board Chairman Ray Vaughn, R-Edmond, announced Oklahoma County’s debris retrieval guidelines for residents who live in the unincorporated areas of Oklahoma County on Friday, December 14, 2007.

The program provides for the pick up of debris from County roads. The County will not provide clean up of individual properties. It is the responsibility of individual property owners to adhere to the following Guidelines in order to ensure proper pick up of debris by the County.

Guidelines for the debris removal from rural properties in unincorporated Oklahoma County are as follows:

  • The debris removal is for vegetative debris only.
  • The timeframe for debris removal is December 17, 2007, through January 18, 2008.
  • If you have contracted with a company for debris removal, then the contractor is responsible for removal and disposal of all debris.
  • Oklahoma County will issue cease-and-desist letters to contractors leaving any debris in the right-of-way.
  • Vegetative debris must be placed at least 10 feet from the edge of the curb or road and branches cannot be longer than 12 feet.
