The Honorable Carolyn R. Ricks
District Judge Judge Carolyn Ricks has been a trial judge for 20 years and has presided over more than 400 trials. She began her judicial career as a Special District Judge in 1986 and was appointed a District Judge in 1989. Judge Ricks was re-elected, unopposed, in 1990, 1994, 1998, and 2002. Judge Ricks has consistently been rated as one of the top district judges by Oklahoma County attorneys. In a survey conducted in July, 2006, she received a 90% approval rate. Judge Ricks sits as a district judge in the civil division and since 1992 has presided exclusively over a civil docket. Judge Ricks has held membership in and served on committees in various professional organizations, including:
Before becoming a lawyer, Judge Ricks was an active partner in a family construction company and was involved in real estate. She is also a former high school English teacher at Putnam West and served as an Instructor of English at Oklahoma Christian University and University of Central Oklahoma. is a native Oklahoman and has lived in Oklahoma County for over 40 years.
She is married to Glenn Ricks who is retired as General Counsel for The
Benham Companies. Carolyn and Glenn have four grown sons. The
