                           The Honorable Lisa K. Hammond

Special District Judge

Judge Hammond was appointed to the office of Special District Judge July, 2001.  She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1984 and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1988. Judge Hammond began her career with the legal system while in undergraduate school, serving for three years as the Victim/Witness Coordinator for the Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office.  Following her first year of law school she was a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Oklahoma.  In 1987 Judge Hammond became a legal intern for the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s office, and upon graduating from law school, remained in the Office of the District Attorney as an Assistant District Attorney until her appointment as Special District Judge.  While employed by the District Attorney, she was appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Oklahoma and the Northern District of Texas to assist in the prosecution of Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) cases.  Judge Hammond is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Association Professionalism Committee for the year 2004, the Oklahoma Trial Judge’s Association and a Master Member of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg American Inn of Court. Civic memberships include Prevent Child Abuse Oklahoma Advisory Board, Board of Directors, Exchange Club Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, member and past president, Downtown Exchange Club and Board of Directors, Pepper’s Ranch.
