JUDGE ROMA M. MCELWEE is currently a Special Judge in Oklahoma County assigned to the Trial Division.  She has been a judge since September of 1995 and has previously been assigned to the domestic division of the court and the criminal division of the court.

Before taking the bench, Judge McElwee was a sole practitioner engaged in the general private practice of law for 13 years.  Before private practice, she was an Assistant Public Defender in Oklahoma County for 2 years and an Assistant District Attorney for 5 years, concluding her employment in that office as Chief of the Juvenile Division of the office for 2 years.  Judge McElwee graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1968 and from the Oklahoma City University School of Law in November, 1974, and was admitted to practice on May 2, 1975.
