                          The Honorable Donald L. Deason

                                        District Judge

Judge Deason received his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree from the University of Oklahoma, and then went on to attend OU Law School, getting his Juris Doctorate in 1979.  He joined the staff at the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office that same year.  He served as a supervisor in the Felony Division of the DA's office from 1984 until his appointment to the bench in July of 1999.

Judge Deason attended the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada, and has completed numerous courses on specialized aspects of trial practice and forensic evidence.  He has been a speaker and instructor for the International Association of Arson Investigators and the Oklahoma City Police Department Academy.  He is also a member of the State and County Bar Associations, the Oklahoma Trial Judge's Association and serves as Judicial Co-Liaison to the Oklahoma Bar Association Family Law Section.  He also, serves on the Advisory Board of the Downtown YMCA. Judge Deason is a Master in the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Inn of Court, and was appointed by Attorney General Drew Edmondson to serve on the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advisory Council.

Judge Deason's son Paul is a student at the University of Oklahoma.  Judge Deason is an active member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Edmond.
