The Honorable Tammy Bass LeSure District Judge The Honorable Tammy Bass-LeSure was born in Mineral Wells, Texas in 1967. She spent her formative years there until she entered college at The University of Oklahoma. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science, Judge Bass-LeSure matriculated on to The University of Oklahoma College of Law, where she earned a Juris Doctorate Degree. Judge Bass-LeSure became licensed to practice law and was then employed with the Oklahoma County Public Defender's Office as a Staff Attorney. After serving the underprivileged and the poor for many years she joined the firm of Watson & Clayborne. In 1997, Judge Bass-LeSure was sworn in as a Special Judge for the City of Oklahoma City. On November 3, 1998, Judge Tammy Bass-LeSure became one of the first black females duly Elected District Court Judges in the history of Oklahoma County and in the history of the State of Oklahoma. Judge Bass-LeSure in a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Black Lawyers Association, National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice, the American Bar Association, Oklahoma Trial Judges Association, and the William J. Holloway Jr. American Inn of Court. She is also a dedicated member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Beta Sigma Omega Chapter, and Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church, where she is a member of the youth department instructional staff. Judge Bass-LeSure is very active within the community where she gives motivational speeches, lectures to college students, and represents the State of Oklahoma at various conferences around the country. Judge Bass-LeSure is married to Karlos LeSure and they are the proud parents of four sons: Tristan, Tony, Davion, Brandon, and one daughter, Justice. Her personal philosophy is, "Never let anyone tell you how high your rainbow goes or how high to set your goals". Her favorite movie is "To Kill a Mockingbird." Her favorite song and quote is "If I can help somebody as I travel along...then my living shall not be in vain."
