Oklahoma County District One Employees Receive Road Scholar Certificate

OSU Center for Local Government Technolgoy Provides Training for County Employees

District One Commissioner Linda Simpson announced today that several District One employees had recently achieved certification in the County Roads Scholar Program offered through the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) at Oklahoma State University:

Each employee received a Certificate of Completion at the Association of County Commissioners of Okalahoma (ACCO) Summer Meeting held last month in Oklahoma City.

The Roads Scholar Program, which began in Oklahoma on 1993, is an educational series designed specifically for County Commissioners, County Road Foreman, and other County Road employees. The program consists of nine courses, totaling 120 hours of training, and is designed to provide employees training related to road and bridge maintenance, construction, and repair. Courses offered in the program include Aggregate Road Maintenance; Excavation Safety; Testing for Soil Properties; Traffic Control; Basic and Advanced Surveying; Equipment Maintenance; Project Management; and Plan Reading.

In addition to those recently certified, current District One employees Mark Reeves, Guy Johnson, Gary Johnson, Tommie Noble, Jr., and Criss Franklin have also earned their Road Scholar Certificate.
