The Children's Center

The Children's Center in Bethany is a private, nonprofit hospital providing 24-hour medical care, rehabilitative therapies, and special education to medically fragile children ranging in age from birth to 18.

Patient disabilities are the result of birth defects, complications at birth, debilitating illnesses, traumatic accidents, drug-dependent parents, and physical abuse and neglect. The Children's Center is a place of hope and healing for these patients and their families.

The Center is supported through private and corporate donors as well as major fund-raising events. It has been selected as the beneficiary of the Oklahoma Sports Science and Orthopaedics'(OSSO) annual Mark Harmon Celebrity Baseball Event, a charity baseball game featuring actor Mark Harmon's Bombers and the OSSO Outlaws in early May at the SBC Bricktown Ballpark before a regularly scheduled OKC RedHawks game. All proceeds benefit the Children's Center.

An annual noncompetitive ‘Spin Your Wheels Bicycle Tour' is hosted by the West Oklahoma City Rotary Club in August. Spin Your wheels offers 12, 25, 50, 75, and l00 mile courses beginning at 7:30 a.m. on The Children's Center's front lawn. All routes have well-stocked refreshment stops and portable toilets. Sag wagons and American Red Cross medical staff are available for all riders.

The annual Christmas Wonderland, a free drive-through display of lights at The Children's Center, is open nightly from 6-10 p.m. from Thanksgiving through Christmas. Thousands of twinkling lights, intricately decorated displays, live costumed characters, holiday music, photos with Santa and much more greet the hundreds of visitors. All donations directly benefit the medically fragile children at The Children's Center.
