Veterans Administration Medical Center

The Veterans Administration Medical Center is located within the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences complex. Although primarily a hospital for veterans, it is also a research and teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care for veterans with state-of-the-art technology. OU medical residents, interns, and students are trained there each year, connecting it both physically and functionally to the university. It provides needed clinical experiences for students enrolled in the colleges at OUHSC .

It serves 48 Oklahoma counties and two counties in north central Texas with a 169-bed capacity. Complete health care is provided to veterans from primary care, surgery, psychiatry, neurology, oncology, dentistry, geriatrics, tertiary referrals, extended care, and other clinical experiences through affiliations with the University of Oklahoma, Metro Tech, Oklahoma City Community College, Rose State College, Oklahoma State University Technical Branch, the University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma Baptist University, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Langston University and several out of state universities.

The Oklahoma City Veterans Medical Center makes a significant contribution to both the development of qualified health professionals and the economic growth of the state.
