C.O.P. Program

The Oklahoma County Juvenile Bureau has developed a Community Outreach Prevention Program to assist our community and schools on the topics of Bullies and Weapons. We see a great need in our community and schools to bring awareness to the public concerning the affects of Bullies and Weapons.

Our presenters for the program are Juvenile Bureau Employees who work directly with youth in our Detention Center and in Probation Services, or, Supervisory personnel who have been involved in such services and now train our own staff. All presenters have both training and direct experience working with at-risk youth, particularly those involved in aggressive behavior.

Presentations have been developed to address the particular needs of various audiences. Age appropriate information is presented for elementary or middle-school youth. Or, information and materials can be presented for teachers and/or parent groups. The Mission of the Juvenile Bureau is "To Work With the Community to Prevent and Control Juvenile Delinquency." We hope and believe this program will provide an opportunity to partner with local communities throughout the County to prevent and address this significant issue of weapons and bullies in our schools.
