Juveniles detained in the Detention Center are provided the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs. All programs foster the Oklahoma County Juvenile Bureau and Detention Center's mission statement "providing opportunities for success". Juveniles are given the choice daily to attend programs that address their moral, spiritual and physical character. Religious based programs are offered daily to enlighten each resident's spiritual growth. Juveniles may also attend services each weekend through morning and afternoon services. The OCJDC also offers individual spiritual counseling through four (4) Chaplains who visit the facility weekly. In an effort to continue the education growth of each resident, the OCJDC contracts with several volunteer agencies to teach and inspire. Agencies providing supplemental services to the School program consist of programs (mentoring), Oklahoma State Health Department, Planned Parenthood and Head Start Tutorial program. The Oklahoma City Zoo brings their visiting zoo out often to entertain & educate.
