AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM JUDGE NAN J. PATTON |

|
The increasing problem of abused and deprived children continues to be one of our greatest challenges. While thousands of Oklahoma County children are served and protected through the Juvenile Court, there is a constant need for volunteer assistance to help us monitor and evaluate their individual safety and progress. Working hand in hand with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth, our varied programs help us provide opportunities for these troubled children to enjoy their childhood, learn in a proper educational environment and find security in loving family setting. Let me encourage you to consider serving as a member of one of our post adjudication review boards (PARB). Even though the work is often difficult, I cannot imagine a higher for of public service for our community and the future than being a part of PARB. Compressive training is provided for selected applicants. And, believe me, you will see our world from a completely different perspective plus enjoy the smiles of healthy and happy children as the result of your efforts. By helping us help these children, you will be making an investment that has the potential for dividends beyond imagination. Nan J. Patton, Associate District Judge |
