Restraints

Mechanical Restraints can be used for:

  1. Self Protection
  2. Separating juveniles from fighting.
  3. Restraining juveniles in danger of inflicting harm to themselves or others
  4. Restraining juveniles who have escaped or who are in the processing of escaping
  5. Preventing destruction of property if reasonably related to 1-4

Mechanical restraints also can be used for medical reasons, under the direction of medical staff, and during transportation to court and outside Detention.
