Visitation
You can have approved visitors visit you. If you do not have 2 parents or guardians, the Facility Administrator can
approve another family member to be a visitor. Your visitor must be at least 18 years old and not have been involved
with the reason for your being in Detention. Each resident has 2 visitations, twice a week as follows:
- Special visitation for residents of D Unit is from 6:00p-8:00p on Wednesdays only. A maximum of four D Unit residents,
two visitors each can visit during a 30-minute session. (Rules 5 through 19 apply to both Wednesday and Week end
visitation).
- Weekend resident visitation is from 8:00a to 4:30p and will be scheduled by appointment only on a first-call basis,
in 30 minute sessions.
- Authorized visitors will be required to call 713-6920, M-F, between the hours of 11:00a-7:30p, to schedule an
appointment for the forthcoming weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
- Authorized visitors are required to talk with the designated Visitation Clerk, to schedule an appointment for Saturday
and Sunday. Visitors are allowed to visit residents one time on Saturday and one time on Sunday. No messages will be
accepted as scheduled appointments. Appointments will be scheduled one week at a time.
- Each resident is allowed two authorized visitors that are on his/her list. Visitors not on the resident’s authorized
list will not be allowed in the Facility.
- Authorized visitors must present valid photo identification prior to entering the Facility.
- Authorized visitors must be 18 years of age or older.
- Any resident has the right to refuse visitation.
- Authorized visitors are not permitted to give residents any item.
- All items brought by visitors for residents will be taken and inspected for appropriateness. Those items determined
appropriate will be given to residents when time permits. Those items determined inappropriate, will be placed in the
residents property or confiscated.
- Purses are not permitted into the Facility and should be left at home or in the car.
- Authorized visitors are not permitted to bring any type of tobacco, lighters or matches into the Facility.
- Authorized visitors are required to walk through a metal detector.
- Authorized visitors are subject to search.
- Authorized visitors must be appropriately attired. No shorts, halter-tops, or shirts that expose the midriff are allowed.
Shoes are required.
- Authorized visitors that appear to the staff to be intoxicated or otherwise not in control of his/her behavior will
not be allowed to visit.
- In the event of an emergency, authorized visitors should follow all directions of Detention Staff.
- Authorized visitors will not be permitted to use the restroom while in the secure area. If this is necessary,
the visit will be terminated and the visitor will be escorted outside of the secure area.
- Residents will not be permitted to use the restroom during visitation. If this is necessary, the visit will be
terminated and the resident will be returned to their room.
