Claims for Unemployment Insurance Benefits Unemployment Insurance is a benefit for those who are out of work trough no fault of their own. It is provided through a direct tax paid by the employer. Eligibility requires that you be able, available and actively seeking full-time employment. To file for unemployment insurance benefits, you must call 405-525-1500 Your claim will be processed by telephone If you were discharged or quit your last job, a decision of eligibility must be made by the Commission. This decision, and any other decision on issues affecting you eligibility, will be mailed to you in writing. If you are allowed benefits in these decisions, you are eligible beginning the week you filed and qualified. If you or the employer disagree with a decision, an appeal can be filed. |
