Chaplain Program

                  Senior Chaplain

             (Rev) Argyl L. Dick Sr.

The Chaplain Department at the Oklahoma County Detention Center is provided to minister to the spiritual needs of the inmates and is also available to the jail staff.

The Chaplain program is conducted through Oklahoma Jail & Prison Ministries, Inc. OJPM provides chaplains, volunteers, Bible studies to the inmates, as well as counseling and related services.

Our chaplains and volunteers bring hope, help, reassurance, and often a beginning relationship with Christ-or the renewal of a lapsed one - and the encouragement of on-going Bible studies. Spiritual and emotional needs are ministered to with understanding and compassion.

In the Oklahoma County Detention Center, two full-time OJPM chaplains and a secretary coordinate the schedules and activities of over fifty-five volunteers (both men and women), ministers and lay people alike, as well as support staff and inmate helpers.

OJPM is supported entirely by churches, businesses and individuals within the Christian community. We receive no county, state or federal funds.
