In 1998 the Fleet Maintenance Center was opened. 4 mechanics service the fleet of 175 vehicles. About 95 to 120 are serviced each month. Services are now provided that formerly were sent out for service. The implementation of this facility is saving taxpayers over $475,000.00. These services include oil changes, transmission services, brake jobs, tune ups, engine repair, air condition service, body repair, installation of emergency equipment, tire changes, flats fixed, rotation and balancing of tires.
