Reserve Division

The Reserve Division consists of 300 members under the direction of Lieutenant Paul Snyder. The Sheriff requires that all reserves deputies be active and trained. The Reserve Division has undergone extensive restructuring and a full-time deputy was appointed to coordinate the reserve program to ensure professional conduct of the program. Each reserve deputy is required to work a minimum of 16 hours a month, attend a basic law enforcement academy and attend annual refresher training. The Reserve Division is now one of the most active divisions within the agency in providing law enforcement services for our citizens and over the past 2 years has donated the equivalent of 1.25 million dollars in time to the citizens of Oklahoma County. Over 37,000 children have been fingerprinted by reserve deputies. During the past 2 years the mounted patrol has been enlarged, reserve patrol units increased from 13 to 25, and all-terrain vehicles have been introduced for field searches. Reserve deputies participate in all aspects of our operations including warrant and jail sweeps, manhunts, and provide security for the THRIVE Center and county pharmacy and for hospitalized inmates.
