Technical Investigations Section
The technical Investigators are skilled in crime scene investigations
in the areas of blood splatter interpretation, luminol processing, photography,
fingerprinting including powders, chemical and fuming techniques. Crime scene
investigators also utilize modern techniques and technology in processing crime scenes,
collecting evidence and crime scene drawings. Investigators are skilled in disaster
techniques for identification of deceased victims utilizing forensic techniques. The
technical investigators also have the ability to reconstruct a crime from evidence at a
scene.
The
Technical Investigations Division is comprised of 4 sworn deputies who are
responsible for processing crime scenes and evidence. They also assist 9 other
municipal law enforcement agencies in Oklahoma County. Utilizing state of the
art technology, Investigators handle enormous case loads. The Technical
Investigators utilize digital photography for all crime scene work and are able
to store huge data files on worm disk.
