The security operations are supervised by 4 lieutenants on 3 shifts
with 136 detention officers responsible for the security of a diverse inmate population;
male, female, adult, juvenile, unsentenced, sentenced, city, county, state and federal
inmates.

The Department of Corrections contracts with the detention center to
house sentenced inmates in the Jail Annex. This operation supervised by 3 corporals on 3
shifts with 12 detention officers.

The CERT Team consist of 30 detention officers trained in tactical
response operations for the detention center. The team is supervised by a lieutenant, a
sergeant and 3 squad leaders. Officers assigned to this unit perform regular duties along
with this specialized assignment.

This unit is responsible for the development and implementation of
prevention systems for the detection of contraband introduced into the detention center.

A classification system was developed in 1998 to provide inmate
management. The unit responsible for this program is comprised of 8 detention officers and
a corporal who classify, provide orientation and manage inmates prior to being assigned
permanent work and housing assignments.

One detention center employee is responsible for coordinating the
judgment and sentence process with the courts, Department of Corrections and other
agencies including the computation of jail time.

responsible for managing inmate grievances including follow-ups and resolution.

Bio-Hazard materials within the detention center.

This section has several areas of operation including; food service
which provides 3 nutritious meals daily; providing commissary service to all inmates;
Money and Property which accepts and releases inmate funds and property; and Inmate
Property which documents and stores all inmate money and property.

This section is supervised by a lieutenant responsible for the
effective operations of the reception area and general public information area. Also,
inmate visitation and central control. The reception area operates the PBX communications
service. This 24-hour operation is supervised by a corporal and staffed by 14 detention
employees. Central Control is responsible the operation of all doors, elevators and all
movement throughout the detention center.

This unit is responsible for incoming and outgoing inmate mail and
for contraband control through the mail system. This operation is supervised by a
detention officer with 4 detention employees.

This unit is responsible for booking and releasing inmates. This unit
also maintains computer updated records on inmates. The division is supervised by a
lieutenant with 100 detention officers and civilians.

This section is responsible for the laundry operation and
housekeeping, general maintenance and upkeep of the facility with a total of 15 employees.
Laundry services is staffed by a corporal and 7 detention officers working 2 shifts.
Facility Housekeeping is operated by 2 detention officers who supervise inmate trustees to
provide housekeeping services to the detention facility, public and common areas and
offices. Facility Maintenance is supervised by 1 sergeant with 2 detention officers
responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep to the detention center.
