An integral part of the investigations division; the investigators assigned to conduct technical investigations are skilled in forensic photography including dark room procedures, fingerprint examination (A.F.I.S.-Automated Fingerprint Identification System), major crime scene investigations, forensic computer investigations, forensic art, and clandestine drug lab investigations. The Investigations Division also has deputies who serve on multi-agency task force operations
High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force (H.I.D.T.A.)
Comprised of law enforcement from area agencies this teams’ focus is on identifying and arresting major drug suppliers and dealers operating throughout the state. H.I.D.T.A. is made up of city, county, state, and federal investigators who work together gathering and using information to get rid of the drug supply and demand in Oklahoma County and the surrounding jurisdictions.
U. S. Marshal’s Service Metro Fugitive Squad
The Metro Fugitive Squad is responsible for the capture of some of the most notorious criminals not only in the state, but in the entire country. This elite unit is comprised of U.S. Marshals, Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Deputies, Police Officers, Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, and the Department of Human Services/Office of Inspectors General.
