The Training Division teaches an average of 275 blocks of instruction each and every year. In 1997 the Sheriff’s Office implemented a mandatory 40 hour mini-academy which all deputies must complete annually. The mini-academy increases annual training for each deputy by 500-percent of what is required by law.

The Oklahoma County training facility has garnered a reputation as one of the premier training facilities in the state and receives requests to attend training from agencies across the state and nation. Training Division staff members have presented courses at national conventions for law enforcement trainers, exhibiting their reputation and expertise.
