The Charles Thomas Tie Project is a quick course facilitated by Probation Officer II Jason Thomas in which youth are taught how to tie a necktie. Officer Thomas credits his father, Charles Thomas for his own passion to help troubled youth. When Charles passed away, Officer Thomas made use of the ties he inherited by teaching a group of his clients how to tie them, speaking to them about professional image, and gifting them the ties. The concept was so well received that years later, Officer Thomas continues to conduct the program regularly using ties donated by churches, community members, and employees throughout the building. It has come to be known as the Charles Thomas Tie Project.
