Oklahoma County District Attorney Vicki Zemp Behenna announced the conviction of Canaan Jenkins, 19, by an Oklahoma County jury. Jenkins was charged with Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon as a result of a shooting at the State Fair on September 23, 2023.

A plan to protect low-income, minority students at Crooked Oak Public Schools from the harmful effects of the proposed Oklahoma County jail is now in jeopardy. Commissioner Jason Lowe is moving to rescind a previously approved land purchase that would allow the school district to relocate its athletic fields, currently located just yards from the future jail site.
