OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma County jury has found Ramon Pugh guilty of three charges of Murder in the First Degree for the January 28, 2017 murders of Derell Barksdale, 39, Donielle Gregory, 39, and Terrance Jackson, 51. Pugh was also found guilty of a fourth charge of Possession of a Firearm After Former Conviction of a Felony The jury recommended a sentence of Life for Counts 1-3 and 20 years on Count 4. Formal sentencing will take place on October 16, 2023.
The triple murder occurred at Pugh’s residence on East Babb Drive in Midwest City. Barksdale, Gregory and Jackson were at the residence for several hours watching tv, eating, drinking and smoking marijuana. A witness told police that around 8:45 p.m., gunshots were heard coming from the living room of the duplex. Barksdale and Gregory were shot multiple times; Jackson had a single gunshot wound. Pugh fled the scene and didn’t turn himself in to the Oklahoma County Detention Center until February 3, 2023.
Originally, Pugh was facing the death penalty. The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office made a motion to dismiss the death penalty on August 30, 2023.
Pugh has four prior felony convictions: Shooting with Intent to Kill, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and two counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Criminal charges are based on probable cause to believe a person has committed a crime. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
